Hi my name is Adam Campbell and I was the web designer and videographer for Dogs in Canada Magazine / Apex Publishing in Toronto, before it ceased operation on Dec. 31, 2011. This website was created to highlight my current work as a multimedia content developer and my work as an e-journalism post-graduate student throughout the 2007-2008 academic year.
School Days
Throughout the fall term (2007) I covered a variety of subjects as an e-journalist, which included audio and video features for our Aging Parents of intellectually challenged children project. Vote! project where we provided daily electorate information during the provincial election. We also hosted and produced an all-candidates debate, which was streamed online, all the while maintaining a weekly j-blog.
At the beginning of the winter term (2008) we were assigned a multimedia project where we were asked to demonstrate a clear understanding of the principals of e-journalism. This project consisted of creating and designing a website dedicated to the topic of our choosing. Gathering all the content in a multimedia format and incorporating the latest e-journalism tools; Flash animation, text, audio, video and wireless technology.
In mid-March when my in-class studies came to an end, I was hired by Prince Edward County’s Economic Development Office (The County) in Picton for a two-month internship to help develop their Web 2.0 campaign. My duties consisted of producing multimedia content for www.buildanewlife.ca – a website created to help promote creative industries, agribusiness, commerce & industry and tourism in Prince Edward County.
Environmental days…
Before becoming the full-time web designer and videographer for Dogs in Canada Magazine, I was the new media and web-store co-ordinator for Grassroots Environmental Products. Throughout the day I would be doing anything from taking product photography shots and writing copy for product pages to designing animated sliders all the while Tweeting and maintaining the GrassrootsBlog and Grassroots Facebook Page.
